Life Sucks!
So my dad had heart catheratization done on Tues and he is ok. He has heart disease and some blockages of his arteries, but they are going to try to treat it with meds b/c he is borderline diabetic and diabetics often have problems. When they do balloon the arteries they often return to their blocked state, only worse than they were to start with. So, my dad was supposed to go to get blood work done on Friday, but he got there and they told him that they didn't have a dr order so they couldn't do it.
Then, I went to the dr on wed and he said he wanted to do a hyda scan (where they check the functioning of the gall bladder) to see if I have gall bladder disease and that he also wanted to do a CT scan. Well, the nurse set it up for Friday. Then they called the ins company and they wouldn't approve the test. So the nurse canceled my apt on friday. The ins finally approved the test and they called to reschedule and couldn't get an appt, so they told me that they would set it up for sometime this week in athens. Only on friday I get a call from the hospital asking if I can come in early for my test. I said sure, then my mom said I couldn't do it cause I had eaten breakfast and you can't eat or drink for 8 hours prior to the test. So she called them back and they told her tha my dr basically screwed me over, b/c I was the only appt they had on the books at all on friday afternoon and that my appt was never canceled in the first place. So, now i have an appt to get it done on mon at 7 am at St. Mary's.
Now for the REALLY GOOD news. My dad got called into his boss's office yesterday and he told him that he was laying him off. And that they were going to take the part-time employee and make him full time and make him assistant manager. Tthe boss told him that he had to let someone go until the spring, because the company, Southern States, is in financial trouble. So, my dad worked for 4 hours on monday, and to start unemployment, you have to be out of work for a week, so his boss screwed him over. AND his boss didn't even have the layoff papers to give to my dad so he could file unemployment. So, the company really just wants my dad to find a new job, cause then they don't have to pay him his severance pay. Cause he has been working for they for like 10 years or so. AND the calhoun job market sucks right now, so he prob wont be able to find a new job!

Life is GREAT!!! Well, truely life sucks!. . BUT, I just saw my FBLA advisor from HS, and she is in town for today and tomorrow!!!!! I gave her my number and hopefully she will call me so I can go to dinner with her. This is great!!! My day was going horrible, what with the Micro test followed by the PSYC test, but hey, I did relatively well on the Micro test, and I'm confident I will do well on the PSYC test. And I'm soooooooo glad that I went downtown with the cool ppl from my class for lunch, so I could see Ms. Lloyd!!! This is great!!!
PLUS, my parents are come to see me tomorrow and we are going to go and see the new Harry Potter movie. So, my life is not as bleak as it was just moments before. Ok, I'm going to go while I'm still on this high! LOL!

Well, my test results came back and it would seem that there is nothing wrong with me. But the dr wants me to keep taking the meds he gave me and to come back at Thanksgiving for some reason. I don't know what is going on. And let me tell you that these pills are not really helping, I'm still hurting. Anyway, my mom is haveing the same problem. She is hurting and the doctor said that she has just "overexerted" her muscles and it is "normal for a woman." And knowing that she has a very physical job, she didn't put her out of week for a few days or anything. So my mom goes back to work and it hurts worse now and she is having to call in sick anyway. So, I HATE doctors!!!
And I waited so long to sign up for the GRE that I don't take it till Jan 10th. I'm telling you that this has been the worst, most bizzare, helliaous semester of my LIFE!!! I CANNOT wait till it ENDS!!!!!!!!!
~ ~ ~ Thursday, October 31, 2002, 10:13 p.m. ~ ~ ~Break. . . Don't we all just LOVE them!!
So, here I am. It is Wed. the day before Fall Break and Halloween. I'm on my way home around 1pm and I'm haveing a good drive. I've just passed the exit to 575 on 75 going north. And what, to my great surprise, decides to cross the road and run in front of my car???? A HUGE BLACK DOG!!!! Yep, hit my front passenger side bumper and my car makes noises and I pull off to the side. I look and my front blinker is hanging drunkenly from my car. So, I start to lose it, decide that is not a good idea. Then I look around and realize that I have no cell phone, and NO ONE will stop to help me. But I was saved a wonderful girl from UGA stopped and let me call my mom and she took me to her. Then my mom, my dad and I went to my car and I called the police and got a report. My dad told me I could drive my car, so we went home. SO. . . . Today I spent my day getting estimates on the car and getting pics taken at the insurance company. And I'm sure that I will have to pay a $500 deductible, and the estimate was for $670 ish. So here I am broke and my car has to have body work done. YAH!!!
Ok, so I have a doctor's appointment today. He gives me 5 perscription and takes some blood and scheduled an ultrasound for tomorrow. So, I spent $85 today on medicine and doctors. I got two perscription for my algeries and 1 for the pain in my side, and two for the stomach problems. The doctor is supposed to call my mom sometime next week and let her know what the ultrasound shows. AND at the doctors office, when they called to set up the ultrasound, the ins company told them that my ins was expiring tomorrow! So, my mom called and they never got the form that she mailed telling them that I was a full time student. Luckly that are giving us a two week extension, but I have to go get that form again. YIPEEE!!!
So, as you can see, this has not exactly been the best break for me!

Hi all. My mom's surgury went well. She is at home resting and recovering. I spent most of Wed at the hospital and cleaning the house in case people dropped by to see my mom. On Thursday I stayed with my mom all day while my dad ran errands. I came home on Thursday night. I had test and a study session on Friday and Shawn came up to see me on Friday evening. We went to Hauan's for dinner and then went to see One Hour Photo, at Beechwood. I had fun. It was good to see him, I haven't seen him in forever. Anyway, I didn't do anything this morning and now I'm at the Science Library checking my grade for the test. On Tuesday my cat wasn't at home before I left so I left anyway. I haven't seen him since Tue morning, so either he has run off, been cat-napped, or is dead. Either way is ok with me. I was going to take him back to my parents anyway. Well, my mom is to have surgery tomorrow. I'm about to go and see if my Micro professor has the test ready for me to take. I hope so, I'm soooo studied out. If I have to wait I will go insane. And after that I'm going to go to my house and destress until about 7 pm and then I'm going to pack up my cat and go home. Yep, you read right! The cat is going back to the house, where my mom has assured me he will become an outside cat! Did I mention that he clawed my foot yesterday and literally dug his claw in one of my toes and riped the skin. It was painfull and the last straw!!! Plus the fact that he turned over my garbage can last night and strew the contents all over my apartment!!! Yipee, my life is just dandee!!! Frustrating!
So, the surgeon tells my mom that she has him "puzzled". And he has no clue why she is in so much pain. But the good thing is that she has an appt with an OB-GYN tomorrow morning at 8:30 am. So, hopefully, she will be able to find out what is wrong! If not, I have no clue what my mom will do. This is sooo frustrating. I just want them to find the problem and FIX it DAMN IT!!! Anyway, I just saw a poster for the Vigina Monologues, so who is going to go and see it with me this week???? And when and where can I get tickets? Sad,
I have to go home today because my mom has an appointment with a surgeon and I want to be there. I have homework due in my 2:30 pm class and I'm frantically trying to figure out if I can leave it in my TA's box before I leave campus and not get counted off. I hope so. I'm worried about my mom. She should have had this appointment back in March. Now, she is in so much pain she can work, or function. And she can't sleep. I feel really bad for her. But hopefully the surgeon will tell her today what is wrong and will get to work, SOON, on fixing it. Tired. . . .
I'm really tired of waking up feeling like I never went to sleep and feeling DRAINED all day long. I'm thinking that I haven't felt energized in FOREVER!!! This has to be some kind of medical problem or vitamin deficiency, or something. There are not enough hours in the day!
Well, school is under way. I had my first test on Friday. I made a 98!!! GO ME!!! So, now I can relax (to an extent) about PSYC 1101. Anyway, unfortunately I have a test in Calc 3 on Thrusday, so I'm starting to feel kinda frantic about that. Plus, wouldn't you know it, in my two grad classes we are moving on to the next section on Monday, so that means I have about 10 hours of reading to do this weekend! Yipee! AND I have homework due in one of the class, and I don't even know where to begin on doing it! Oh well. With all this school work and homework, I haven't really had time to think of my senior thesis or which grad school to apply to OR study for the GRE. YAH!!! Wonderful way to start a day. . . .
Well, I get up this morning and I go in the kitchen to feed the cat and what do I find??? A line of ants eating his food!!!! So, I get out the wasp spray - cause I have no ant spray - and spray away. I want to know where these DAMN THINGS came from. I looked and it doesn't seem like they are coming in from the door, but I can't tell. This is just great!!! So, now I have to go back to my house and deal with ants! Oh well, I saw Leah on the bus this morning. It is good to see friends again after a long summer break.
